The Perfect Venue to Watch the World Cup Doesn't Exist... Until Now.
The Perfect Venue to Watch the World Cup Doesn't Exist... Until Now.
I remember watching Beckham's iconic free-kick against Greece on a tiny TV in the corner of a bar at my cousin’s wedding. I remember screaming inside a small village local when Lampard's infamous 'ghost goal' didn't count. And I vividly remember watching Harry Kane blast that penalty over the bar against France in a cramped craft beer joint where you couldn't really see the projector, though, looking back, that was probably for the better.
These are the struggles we've all faced as football fans. The truth is, there are plenty of places in London where the beer is great. There are also a lot of places where watching the football is amazing. But we could never find somewhere that did both really well.
So, we decided to build it. We opened The Volley in Old Street to combine great pints with a proper matchday atmosphere. And now, we are bringing that exact same energy to the Bermondsey Beer Mile. We are officially taking over The Blue Monk for the World Cup, marking the start of The Volley South.
We know that you don't just want to watch a match; you want an unforgettable, immersive experience. By combining The Volley's football culture with The Blue Monk's premium setup, we are turning incredible venue features into the ultimate viewing benefit for you. Because our 150-capacity room is a purpose-built, custom-acoustically treated live music venue, you won't be straining to hear a muffled TV. You will be watching the World Cup on massive screens while hearing the blasting commentary and stadium roars with flawless, cinematic clarity.
Pair that premium viewing experience with our famously accessible bar. We are proudly pouring beautifully brewed local Bermondsey craft beer, alongside Tennents and Buckfast, so you can enjoy top-tier drinks without missing a second of the action.
There has never been the perfect venue to watch football for me, until now.
